HOW DO I BOOK AT CASA QUINTAS?
The easiest booking option is directly through our booking page on the website. Where you (simply) enter the dates and choose the type of room you prefer. If you would like to have extra bed(s) in the room or if you are traveling with a bigger group or family and would like to book multiple rooms, please send us on email at info@casa-quintas.com.
WHAT ARE THE CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIMES?
Check-in: 17:00 till 22:00.
If you would like the advantage of checking in earlier, to have a rest, take a shower or use the pool/facilities, we have to charge an extra fee of €35,- per room. Besides, it’s based upon availability due to guests checking out, clean the rooms and be fully ready to welcome you as our new guest(s). This takes time and there can be all sorts of delays. We will do our best to accommodate your request. In case early check-in is not available, do not worry we have a list of activities and suggestions you can do in the meantime.
Checking in after 22:00 till 00:00 is only possible on request, we apply a surcharge of €35,- per room. Check-in after 00:00 is unfortunate not possible.
Check-out: 08:30 till 11:00.
A late check-out (until 16:00) is only possible upon availability. With an additional charge of 50% off the room category booked. If you have to leave before 08:30, please inform us on forehand and we will provide you with a breakfast box for on the way and we will make sure that all remaining payments are settled the day before.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I NEED TO CANCEL MY BOOKING?
Get in touch with us as soon as possible. More information about the cancellation policy is explained in our terms and conditions. Due to the fact that we are a small-scale guesthouse, we cannot make exceptions to this policy. Life can be uncertain, so we advise you to have a good travel insurance that will cover unexpected events.
HOW IS THE WEATHER IN ERICEIRA?
Since we are located next to the cold Atlantic Ocean, the weather can be a bit unpredictable. So, make sure you bring a jacket or sweater for the cool nights. During the day it can be a bit windy but with really nice warm temperatures and lots of sun!
IS BREAKFAST INCLUDED IN THE ROOM PRICE?
Yes, every day a delicious homemade, healthy, sweet or savory breakfast is served between 08:30 and 10:00. This is including a fresh juice, fresh fruits, pastries, coffee and/or tea. A breakfast for 2 persons (or 4 for the family room) is included in the room price.
DO YOU OFFER LUNCH OR DINNER ?
We have the option to join for a tasty dinner on Monday and Thursday evening. We do not provide lunch. For lunch you can go into town, there are some little cafés and restaurants where you can have a really nice and affordable lunch!
IS IT A PROBLEM FOR BREAKFAST AND DINNER IF I HAVE A SPECIAL DIET/ALLERGY?
No problem at all! Just let us know your needs on forehand and we will do our utmost to prepare any dairy free, gluten free, vegetarian or vegan options. Keep in mind that we cannot replace exactly every product served.
IS THERE A FRIDGE IN THE ROOM?
Only the suites are equipped with a mini fridge. There is no fridge available for general use (exception for medicines that need a cool storage).
IS THERE A KITCHEN TO PREPARE MEALS FOR LUNCH OR DINNER?
No, we don't have a kitchen available for cooking. The area has many great restaurants and bars! We will share our favorites with you upon arrival.
DO YOU OFFER DRINKS OR SNACKS?
Yes, we have a 24/7 "honesty bar" with a big assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Such as local quality wines (Manzwine and Quinta da Almiara), (Dutch) beers and (natural) sodas. We also offer several little snacks like olives, local chips, Portuguese cheese and Presunto.
DO YOU HAVE FAMILY ROOMS?
Yes, we have one “family/friends” room available that can sleep up to a maximum of 4 persons. This room is divided in two separate bedrooms and has one bathroom.
DO YOU ACCEPT GROUP BOOKINGS?
It's possible to rent the entire house and have your “private” villa, including our services such as breakfast, cleaning and dinner nights. Having a smaller group? We do accept group bookings up to 4 rooms in order to keep the balance between guests.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN SLEEP AT CASA QUINTAS?
We offer 8 spacious rooms, all with a private bathroom, that can be rented separately or together. These rooms sleep 18 people in total, without any extra beds placed in the rooms. If you have any questions about the size of your group, company retreat or event at Casa Quintas, we're more than happy to assist.
ARE KIDS WELCOME?
Yes, Casa Quintas is really suitable to stay with your kids. We have baby chairs and toys available. For the little ones until 2 years we will place a baby cot including the cutest linen, diaper pail and changing pad on your room for free. From the age of 2-9 we have a surplus for the extra bed in the room of €30,- per night, including a delicious breakfast. From 9 years on the surplus for an extra bed is €45,- per night (including breakfast).
It is not allowed to stay with us unsupervised of a guardian under the age of 18 years.
DO YOU HAVE BABY COTS OR EXTRA (CHILDREN) BEDS AVAILABLE?
Yes, baby cots and extra beds are available and can be added to your room upon request. Please, let us know on forehand because the number of extra beds is not unlimited and not all rooms are suitable to have an extra bed.
DOES THE HOUSE HAVE A LIFT?
No, we don't have a lift at Casa Quintas. In case you are unable to climb the stairs, please let us know on forehand and we would make sure you have a room located on the ground floor.
DOES THE ROOM COME WITH TOWELS AND TOILETRIES?
All rooms are equipped with a hairdryer, hand soap, shower cap, bathmat and two sizes of towels. In the shower you'll find shampoo, conditioner and bodywash from Marie Stella Maris. Towels will be changed every two days in order to save some water and energy.
ARE THERE BEACH TOWELS AVAILABLE?
Yes, we have for every guest a big pool / beach towel available.
WHAT ARE THE OPENING HOURS OF THE POOL?
The pool is open from 08:30 to 20:30
DO YOU ALLOW PETS?
Unfortunately we cannot allow them for hygienic reasons. Besides that, our dogs and cats will be around for some cuddles. However, they are never allowed in the rooms of the guesthouse.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO BOOK SURF LESSONS THROUGH YOU?
Yes, we would love to connect you with our amazing and talented Portuguese surf teacher. We don’t work with a big surf school but with a professional private teacher in order to provide you with the best experience. Each lesson will take around 2 hours, in a small group, and is including the needed material. We suggest to book in advance when travelling between May and October.
CAN I RENT A SURFBOARD AT CASA QUINTAS?
We have a small quiver available for different levels. You can test some super cool Mick Fanning surfboards. You liked it? Get one yourself at Behind the Pines Amsterdam. Unfortunately, we don’t have wetsuits for rent but you can rent one in a shop only 5-minute drive away. It is not possible to rent equipment if you are not staying with us. We have a limited amount of equipment and want to make sure there is enough availability for our guests.
HOW IS THE CONNECTION FROM CASA QUINTAS TO RESTAURANTS?
Casa Quintas is located in a quiet spot in the countryside (around the corner of Ericeira) and yet centrally located. We have a few great restaurants within walking distance and a lot within a few minutes driving. Ask us in person and we guide you to our favorites!
HOW DO I GET TO THE CASA FROM THE AIRPORT?
Casa Quintas is located in Barril, only 45 minutes driving from Lisbon airport. Most of our guests rent a car and for a reliable car rental company we suggest our partner: Drive on Holidays. You can also take a taxi or Uber from the airport. This normally costs between €50,- and €70,- depending on the day and time of arrival. Or we can arrange you a shuttle service (requires pre-booking). It is possible to come by public transport. However, it can be a bit of a hassle and it will take a bit longer (around 2 till 3 hours).
SO, WE DEFINITIVELY NEED A CAR THERE?
We do recommend you to rent a car, so that you can easily explore the rest of the area as well. You can drive along the beautiful coastline and visit all different beaches and little villages. It also gives you the freedom to go easily on a surf trip! With a car you are much more flexible than when you need to take a taxi or public transport. Probably it will be cheaper to rent a car as well and parking is free almost everywhere.
IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE NEAR CASA QUINTAS?
We have a free private parking in front of the house. Also, on the driveway we have a few spots. Everyone staying at Casa Quintas can park their car.
