About us
Casa Quintas, named after the street Rua das Quintas’, is located in the coastal village Barril, a small town next to bustling Ericeira. Within walking distance to the little town of Barril where you can find some cafés and restaurants, a supermarket and a bakery.
At the casa there are many terraces spread over the property, where you can drink your cappuccino in the morning and stick around in the evening when the sun goes down. Enjoying one of the homemade (BBQ) dinner on Mondays and Thursdays under the starry sky. There is pretty always a fresh sea breeze so make sure you bring a sweater! The big blue pool invites you to cool off, swim some laps and then read your book or take a little siësta. Ultimate holiday goals!
The area offers fantastic conditions for surfing, mountainbiking and hiking with panoramic views of the ocean and the beautiful nature. Every Wednesday morning you can join a yoga session at home in the beautiful garden. Nothing wrong with a down dog in the Portuguese sun! Or just enjoy a lazy day at the beach. The beach of Praia da Calada can be reached in 25 minutes on foot or only 2 minutes by car. Go to the famous beach of Ribeira D’ilhas (10 minutes by car) to watch some people surfing. Or Praia Foz do Lizandro because of its river with calm water, thus a perfect beach for a dip in the cold ocean or for a beach day with the kids. Casa Quintas is also located in a relaxed spot for some sightseeing trips. Drive up north to Peniche or Nazaré, or go to the south to explore colorful Sintra or towards the capital city Lisbon.
We, Jord and Aranka, worked before in hospitality and events, and found the ultimate location for a long-cherished dream: starting our own luxurious and high-quality guesthouse. During another holiday in and around Ericeira, driving around the area and daydreaming we discovered the house. Immediately tempted by its potential, but also realized it was going to be a huge project. After 8 months of tearing down, renovating and rebuilding; Casa Quintas was born.
With 6 spacious rooms and 2 large suites our casa offers the intimacy of a boutique hotel and a home-from-home feeling through its personal character. Combining a more modern and boho-style with natural materials, marble stones and earthy tones while respecting and keeping the original Portuguese elements alive. Everything has been personally designed, collected and decorated by us with a lot of detail.
We want to create a unique place that soothes the eye, offers privacy, good vibes only and where you can be yourself. Add lots of warm hospitality, feel welcome and create unique and memorable moments with your family and friends. It’s our great pleasure to welcome you at the Casa!
